NEW YORK (APRIL 10, 2010) - Considered as the founder of Pop

Art and its main representative, Andy Warhol was as fascinating

as he was controversial, and his influence can still be felt

throughout the art world. In the summer of 1967 I was invited by

Waldo Diaz-Balart (Fidel Castro's brother in law and an artist in his

own right) to meet Warhol at his house in East Hampton, where he

would be filming. Several members of his entourage were there,

including Paul Morrisey, Ingrid Superstar and Edie Sedgwick. I

wasn't sure what to expect and in the end I was surprised at the

professionalism of everyone involved and specially of Warhol

himself. Firmly in control of the filming, talking to him was an

unalloyed pleasure. I met him a few more times in the city after that

but I lost contact with him after I went back to Chile. 1967.

A video of Andy making a film in East Hampton in the Summer

of '67 was uploaded to youTube, where it has had quite a bit of

success. Brian Mitchell composed the music specially for this

video and it has had as much success as the show itself. You can

also see it here, both the video and the slideshow.

Some comments:

-- "Hi, I loved your "Andy Warhol Makes A Film" video. The

soundtrack was also great. Your closing credits indicate the music

is by Brian Mitchell, but I'm wondering if the piece has a title. If

you're able to tell me it, it would be like scratching an itch!"

--"Those pictures of Edie are fucking brilliant!! Thank you!"

--"Good stuff, amazing pix of edie *,*!"

--"If you are a Andy Warhol fan you must watch this video!"
