A visit with my friends

Julio Ramos and Ana Ochoa

to the Whitney Museum was

the highlight of this week.

One of the BIG museums in

New York City, it specializes

in American Art (with capital

letters.) The new building

itself is well worth the trip.

On another plane, but

nonetheless related to my

photography, I've finally

digitzed some of the audio

tapes that Tom Lopez

recorded in our trip to

Mexico in 1983 for a program

for NPR on Miguel Angel

Asturias, the Guatemalan

Nobel Prize winner. There is

a connection to the

digitizing of the several

hundred photographs I took

of the trip, a connection

that I'm exploring.
